The Rough Tooth Project is made up of a team of researchers who collaborate on specific research studies according to their expertise and interests. Funding for the project goes toward purchasing equipment, expenses during data collection, dissemination of research findings through publication and conferences, and promoting science education.

The Rough Tooth Project was created for the purposes of furthering our knowledge of Steno bredanensis, the rough-tooth dolphin. The Project operates under fiscal sponsorship from The Coalition for the Advancement of Scientific Research, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to allowing individual researchers to conduct and promote their research, share resources, secure funding, and generate public interest in scientific research.
